The loss of a giant

Well I'm sure you are all wondering why we have suddenly decided to drop the Games Workshop line, and we feel that you are entitled to know.

First off, we have put up with a lot of strange business practices over the last few months. Not being able to use GW images to help sell their own products, being limited to only one delivery per week for stock, trade sheets that were not correctly updated thereby causing us to sell items that had been discontinued and were no longer available, even being told that it would cost £150 to get next day delivery on a shipment.

I should point out here that none of our other suppliers have policies like this. In fact next day delivery is a standard affair once the minimum order has been met. Something that we are very grateful for. :)

However we put up with all of this, because we love Warhammer and wanted to sell it to all of you and at fair and affordable prices.

Unfortunately it was just not to be.

As of the 1st of June, Games Workshop will be increasing the price of most of their range by about 20%. So for instance, currently the Assault on Black Reach box set costs £39.15 from their shop. As of the 1st it will cost £48.95.

From a business point of view this is a decision we simply cannot fathom considering the current climate. Surely dropping the price, thereby picking up more new customers and sales would have been the better choice. However that is their decision and it is not up to us to tell them otherwise.

However there will be one other slight change made, and this is to their wholesale rates.

As you can imagine our margin is very low considering the level of discount we offer. A decision that we have never once regretted. ;) Unfortunately however, Games Workshop are due to implement a 4 tier discount system which in our case, what with currently being an online only retailer and only being open for a few months, we found ourselves right at the bottom of the discount tier.

This new wholesale price simply made any discount higher than 10% unsustainable. So unfortunately we were then faced with a choice, either we continue to sell Games Workshop's line and heavily reduce our discount, or we wash our hands of it and focus on other miniature lines that we feel are of equal or superior quality, and at prices that don't make the wallet run away to Bermuda.

We choose the latter, it may not be what we want, but Games Workshop have forced this decision on us.

So get them whilst you can, cause once their gone they're gone. :(

Oh we also guarantee that we will not be increasing the prices of what we have left of GW stock, they will stay as they have always been and they will still carry a discount of 25% off. ;)

We hope after reading this that you can understand why we have chosen this course of action. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to add them below.

It's live, it's live!

Finally, after hours upon hours of late nights and early mornings. Warmachine is finally live on the site, and all at 15% off!

We are all really pleased to be able to sell these miniatures to you. We've had our eye on them for quite some time now, so it really is an honour. Also we've just had our first shipment in from our supplier and the presentation is every bit as grand as that of Games Workshop. Though we will go out on a limb here and say that Warmachine's bases are a quadzillion times better...no more top heavy miniatures for us. ;D

No rest for the wicked though, as there are many more lines that we're going to be adding over the coming months. Starting with Warmachine's far more primal brother. I'm sure you all know what we're talking about. ;)

Twenty to one and work is done...almost.

Been unbelievably hectic this last week. We received some very very good news from a new supplier and have been preparing the shop all week for a brand new line of miniatures.

We've wanted this line on our shop since day one, so it's a real pleasure to be putting it on now. :) I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll be able to find out what it is, but to those who can't find it, I can definitely say that this is a good one.

As soon as everything is ready and perfect the doors will be opened. So stay tuned folks. ;)

It's cold outside...

Yes you all know it's coming. This weekend Friday through Sunday, 9pm on Dave.

Brand spanking new Red Dwarf, for us all to love and admire. *Fingers crossed*

I was still in school when they showed the final series, so this is going to come with a fair bit of nostalgia. Honestly I may be geeking out slightly...but in a cool way. ;)

This week has been pretty good for the return of greats actually. New Red Dwarf (mentioned all ready, but I just like saying it), brand new Full Metal Alchemist, new details of the upcoming Ghostbusters game, not to mention a redone version of Dragonball Z.

Ok, ok I know what you're thinking, but I know what I like, and these are all classics from my childhood. So I can't help it. :)

I now cannot wait till Friday. Happy Easter everyone!! Eat as much chocolate as your bodies can handle, then take a break and eat some more later.

Social Networking!

Whatever you think of these sites, they do have their uses.

Twitter is great for snapshots of news, rather than lengthy blog posts - great for keeping up with events in a hurry. Follow us here!

Facebook - some loathe it, some love it. We have a facebook group dedicated to the shop. If FB is your site of choice, join the group for the latest news and discussion with other fans (of gaming, that is, not our shop... we're not quite that vain yet!) Just do a search for 'completely cool' and we'll pop up under the groups results.

If you have a favourite site you use for communicating with friends, and making new ones, then let us know, and we'll show our faces!

The Soul Grinder is born

Here it is in all its glory. Bare in mind that it is my first large model, so there are going to be things wrong with it, but on the whole I am really pleased. Can't wait to try it out this weekend.

I've also added the pics to the site and I think it really helps to show what the product can actually look like when assembled and painted. Hope you all like.

A weekends shannigans

Chaos Daemons 3 - Necrons 0

I have just discovered the wonders of fielding a Daemon Prince. To say that he is good would be an understatement. He was able to withstand 48 shots of gauss blaster fire as well as blats from a staff of light and an assault from a pack of flayed ones.

Total number of wounds sustained? 0
Total number of surprised necrons who then had their heads eaten? All of them!

Then there is the sheer amazingness of my Keeper of Secrets who was attacked by the Necron Lord (with Warscythe), from behind I might add. Yet lightning fast reflexes, (or an accidental step backwards) proved to be his downfall. Cause, with one almighty "Stomp" the Keeper ground that lord back into the dirt from whence it came.

Fun was had by all...atleast it was by me. :)

Spent the rest of the weekend painting up a Soul Grinder. Still long ways to go but, if it turns out ok, I'll put some piccies up for you all to see. I might even add them to the shop...well see how it goes.

Anyhoo just like to finish with news that the Imperial Guard pre-orders are now up and awaiting orders. I'm looking forward to seeing what this new Valkyrie can do, though at 128 peices this kit is not for the faint hearted (still less than the Shadowsword though...d'oh my god that was alot of pieces).

We're Live!

Many hours and cups of coffee later, the site is open to the public - tell your friends, enemies, cat & dog... top quality wargaming products, at sensible prices!

Not only do we stock Games Workshop items for Warhammer, Warhammer 40k & The Lord of the Rings, we've added two great new lines: Dark Sword Miniatures and The Army Painter.

Dark Sword specialise in producing incredibly detailed miniatures based on the art work of some of the most successful fantasy artists in the world today, while The Army Painter provides a great alternative to the GW Citadel range for paints and tools.

We've a large and growing collection on Completely Cool, so take a look!
